  • Obamacare Challenges Slip Past Media’s One-Track Mind

During recent days the news media has been scrambling to cover every angle of the death of Osama bin Laden. While this is welcome news, our nation is far from in the clear as major operatives of bin Laden’s international Al Qaeda network still lurk in unexpected places.

This event has again highlighted the problem of our news media: A one-track mind. We’ve heard very little news other than the focus on the end of bin Laden.

Of course, other news didn’t decide to take a vacation.

    Virginia AG Ken Cuccinelli

Moving forward the constitutionality of the misnomer “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”, or Obamacare, will be challenged on two fronts this week in the courts. Starting Tuesday, May 10th, The Liberty Counsel’s challenge of Obamacare moves to the Federal Court of Appeals at the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, VA (Liberty University vs Geithner). The second case —  the Commonwealth of Virginia vs Sebelius — is to be heard by The Court Of Appeals. This case is filed by Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli of Virginia.

I have made my concerns over the monstrosity of Obamacare clear in many past articles. To date the high courts have never allowed the federal government to force citizens to buy any product or service. Many Americans are fighting for the demise of Obamacare, and if it is not overturned or repealed then our freedoms as we know them will have been forever altered.

Our Constitution has been under threat since the day Barack Obama was sworn in as he and his administration continues to overstep the authority granted under our Constitution. Obamacare is simply the most egregious overreach.

  • Breaking: Judge Rules ObamaCare Unconstitutional

U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson has just ruled the requirement of ObamaCare that Americans must purchase health insurance or face penalties — the “individual mandate — is unconstitutional. In his ruling, Judge Hudson stated that:

“At its core, this dispute is not simply about regulating the business of insurance—or crafting a scheme of universal health insurance coverage—it’s about an individual’s right to choose to participate.”

Hats off to VA Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli for filing the suit. This is just one round in what is likely to be a long series of court battles over the constitutionality of ObamaCare. But it’s a great omen.
